Hull's been painted white, but otherwise looks unmolested.

Classic Boat Wiki

Anyone else having trouble logging on to Classic Boat Wiki? I have never been able to get logged on. The link isn't recognizing my user ID. I tried changing cases, but got nowhere.

327: 210hp vs 230hp

I'm curious to know what CC did to get an extra 20 horsepower when they introduced the 230hp version of the 327 in 1969. Can anyone shed some light for me?

Thanks,
Marc

18' Cavalier

Well I can't say for sure, but the museum could. According to Jerry Conrad of the Mariner's Museum and author of Chris Craft - The Essential Guide , excluding the estimated 93,000 un-numbered (and un-carded) kit boats, only about 400 hull cards of the remaining 119,000+ boats produced through 1977 a...

rwj: You seem interested in bringing your boat back to as original as possible. I highly recommend you contact The Mariner's Museum in VA. They possess the Chris Craft archives. This collection includes the original hull card (basically, the boat's birth certificate) for your boat, which will confir...

Carver boats

My dad had a 1972 28' Carver Express Hardtop in 1979. It was wood, and I remember that 1973 was the first year of fiberglass Carver production... at least for the 25', 28', and 33' Express and Mariner lines. Not sure about the Santa Cruz and Ranger models.

Cavalier Hull Number

According to Chris Craft - The Essential Guide , the Cavalier Division produced two different 18' hulls; the first produced from 1959 thru 1962, and the other produced from 1965 thru 1966. The V denotes Cavalier. The U denotes Utility. The third letter was added to identify the model year, A=1960 B=...

Batting under vinyl upholstery?

Does anyone know what, if any, material was used under the deck and cockpit vinyl in 1960's CC division and Cavalier division utilities? I read that Century used thin cotton as batting material, and was wondering if CC used a similar material under the deck and cockpit upholstery in it's models.
