Peg Board for inside cabin of 1960 Constellation
Hello! I am in a quest for peg board (Masonite) that is used on Chris Craft Constellations around 1960. One of my boards is damaged. The four hole pattern is 1/2 versus the 1" I am finding. 4' x 4' sheet or remnant is needed. Your help is appreciated.

Re: Constellation Stove
Yes, most had two-burner alcohol stoves that sat directly on top of the counter. Converted mine to a propane cooktop when we redid the counters a few years back. In terms of the countertops, I attempted to duplicate the same laminates but nothing could be found in a laminate that looked the same so ...

My 1960 Constellation was delivered 5/1960 and has a forward berth is perforated painted wood with the bullheads aft and forward near the chain locker varnished mahogany. Your boat's cabin configuration is very different than mine in that the galley on my boat is in the aft portion or the cabin adja...

Horns for 1960 36-ft Chris Craft Constellation
Hello! I am looking for either exact replacements or a resource to rebuilt the twin horns for my 1960 Constellation. We tested switches, electrical and both units are getting power, but not working. These horns are integrated mounts on both wides of the lower portion of the mast so replacing with an...

Re: Constellation Enthuasiasts
These posts are old, but I have often wondered if there was a Constellation group similar to the Commander group. I have a nice 1960 36-ft Constellation hull number CXA-36-138H which is on the Chris Craft Antique Boat Club Hull Registry...Any more information on a Constellation group? Chris Finks Po...

1960 Constellation Interior Upholstery
Cotton canvas was used in the day sunbrella is a acrylic and not made till late 50's or so. older boats used a cotton duck of even vinyls. Good luck. Thank you for your reply. My boat was delivered May 6, 1960, so maybe the Sunbrella is just fine (although it has been back ordered for quite some ti...

What was the upholstery material listed as 1036? I am about to pull the trigger on ordering Sunbrella in the correct colors, but unsure of the type/texture of material used.

Mast Hardware
I have a 1960 36-foot Constellation that has the mast/yardarm and "wings", Jetson light, base and horns intact and in good repair. It is however missing all of the rigging/line and eyelet hardware for each side (port/stbd) of the top of the mast and 1/2 of the way down. I assume it was a stainless e...

I am working on my mostly original and nice Constellation and researching upholstery materials and colors. 283s in 36-ft Constellation
Oh man! I mistakenly posted GPM, when I meant GPH (gal per hour) My fat fingers= typos. Yikes! As to the speed, I cannot remember the RPMs, but do remember our two GPS reading the same land speed of right around 25 mph. For a brief time anyway. Frankly, I was stunned but my friend got the same numbe...

Aww John. I would never say I ran her for extended periods at that speed, but we did give it a shot a couple of times with most of the time treating her gingerly. The boat's a grand old girl, tight and plan on keeping her that way. Still impressive. And, you're right about having a tanker on call......

283s in 36-ft Constellation
I am happy to report that I have received a voicemail from the marine mechanic that said the engines a running well and should be fine. Rebuilt the carbs, starters and alternators. So hopefully those engines will remain fine! It's nice to have the original engines remain with the boat, especially si...

Engines
Thanks to everyone for their thoughtful responses. Apparently, the message left by the marine mechanic "we have a significant issue to chat about" was not about the engines as they turned fine and he suspects when they run tomorrow, we likely will be okay since the engines were pickled. Apparently, ...

Engine
Hi. Thanks for the reply! I'm In the Portland, Oregon area. Where is the boat? As far as what I would pay, would depend upon the condition of the engines, what they are (hopefully 283s) and whether they have been properly laid up (winterized) and their condition. Admittedly, this is a bit of unchart...

Twin 283s wanted for my 1960 36-foot CC Constellation
After a friend piloted my boat into a barely sunken piling (a longer sad story) and the the boat was a third under water and my engines were over watered, I was just informed that although they were pickled, they are "toast." Via a professional, we've done all the hull repairs to correct and beautif...

Peg board for 1960 36-feet Constellation Cabin
I am trying to find a source for the peg board panel (at dinette) which looks like masonite with holes drilled. On the face of it, it seems like a "Home Depot" run would solve the issue, but I'm told the holes in current materials are of different diameter. Thanks!
