Hi Don thanks for the info,I have a bilge pump that works fine on auto and Manuel. So going back to the auto bailer I guess I should disconnect the rubber tube and block the outlet to the hull is that correct before I take it to the broads for the first time ?

Thanks for the reply Matt,Im sucking all this info in as i'm new to power boating but have done quit a bit of sailing right from a kid just did'nt want all that rope pulling any more lol.

Hi drrot,thanks again,have lot of WD40 so will give that mouse a good soaking.with regard to the neutral does that mean it's reverse and thats the reason to always have someone behind the wheel unless we turn the engine off ?,

1948 16ft Runabout what is it
Hello every one,quite new on here and to power boating.my question is what is this pipe ? it looks like it has an air bleed to the top of the pipe and has an outlet in the hull.Im guessing that it is some form of bilge vent maybe

Thanks ddrot iv'e now stopped that and will be trying her in the water next week,have checked the bilge pump out and that works OK so fingers crossed for next week

Thanks for the reply and advice Matt, will probably give her a soak in the norfolk broads next week just to see if she seals up completely and then take her out for the winter and store over gravel.
