Linoleum sealer?
I'm about to install some NOS blue marbled linoleum in my 1942 U-22. What should I seal it with?
This Old House type forums all suggest an acrylic sealer that looks to me to be too shiny and slippery, but unsealed it will absorb all sorts of stains.
Any advice?
Thanks
Gene Porter

Have you used this stuff? Looks great but The web site says it only comes in translucent white and colors - tough to use on authentic colored linoleum flooring.

Sorry, Forbo.
Re: Linoleum sealer?
It is my understanding that if products are made today by the same manufacturer using the same processes as the original product, than it may be called NOS. FORBO and its predecessors have been around for 85 years

NOS is a very abused term and in the BCA, Buick Collectors of America, it can refer to parts manufactured by the original manufacturer as opposed to reproduction parts that may be in fact,-better.

Re: Linoleum sealer?
Your right Doug, it is an abused term. If Gene had real NOS linoleum, it would be as stiff as a bridegrooms......

Re: Linoleum sealer?
You are correct....any original would have all the linseed oil migrated and only the backing left.
Also, what would be the use of a sealer on linoleum? Or his he referring to seam butting/sealing?
....I can see maybe if it was vinyl.

I don't know, I've never put anything on linoleum once it's down.
