64' Chris Craft transmission problem

My Chris Craft Continental has a paragon transmission that will not shift into forward, however there is neutral and reverse. It is not a velvet drive. I am looking for a mechanic to correct the problem, the boat is in Westen Mass but can be trailered to a shop.
