Post by gallagh59 » Wed Sep 28, 2016 9:06 am

Any suggestions as to where I can purchase a new oil pressure sending unit? Preferably NOS. 1959 Continental 283 cu. in.

Thanks,

Bob

If you have the original post a pic along with engine model and serial number off the tag and I will look.

Thanks Greg;

Engine No. is 803310 283 cu. in. GM 185hp. Sending unit is Stewart Warner; stampings on stud: C-3 60 (could be 80) and 353Y 12V. Here are a couple pics.............

I will assume the model number on the manifold tag reads "283". I'll take a look. Will take a few days before the parts and I are in the same location.

353Y looks like the original Stewart Warner number. It is probably still available. I think the OEM had a rubber boot over the sender.

my 2 cents,

C-3" face- 60 degree sweep (0-60)

353-Y is and old SW number.

Ohms should be 33-240

give it a look

Call or email Clawson Classic instruments. He keeps them in stock.
