Fall 2011 Brass Bell

Post by Al Benton » Mon Jun 04, 2012 6:42 pm

Dear Members,

Your Board of Directors is very pleased to present The Brass Bell, Fall 2011, Vol. XXXVII, No. 4.

http://www.chris-craft.org/downloads/BB-Fall-2011.pdf

This marks the beginning of a new era with the Chris-Craft Antique Boat Club as we move one step closer to full recovery. Your Board of Directors along with Bill Baldwin and all of the volunteers that have participated in this effort are very pleased that we can offer this preview of our World-Class Quarterly Publication.

Be sure to read "From The Club" once you're into the magazine. It will share many of our emotions as we have reached this stage in Club recovery. This is your Club; we are merely the caretakers. The issue will now be off to the printer, a Club Member! More on this later.

We depend on your continued support to be able to present the many benefits that are now one step closer to being provided as promised. Please consider renewing your membership now.

The Fall 2011 Issue of The Brass Bell

Post by whamm511 » Sun Jun 24, 2012 10:27 pm

Why can't I access the Fall 2011 issue of the Brass Bell? I haven't received my hard copy and now I can't seem to get to the PDF version of it either. I looked at it when it was first available but didn't finish it and now I can't find it at all. The link does not open. If you have pulled it because of all the 'discussion' concerning pg. 5 etc. you need to let us know. If not then what am I doing wrong? It shouldn't take 15 or 20 minutes just to find the Brass Bell. I can't be the only one experiencing this.

We did have a small unanticipated delay on the mailing but we worked through it and this will not happen in the future.

The issue DID mail (from Dallas area) a week ago Friday, and it did go standard postage. We do know from past experience with all the cutbacks at the post office AND with the 4th of July falling in the middle of the week, it can take anywhere from 5 to 15 days for a standard envelope to deliver. Even first class mail is taking up to 3 days (without a holiday) for delivery within the Dallas Ft. Worth area. We are not out of line with this delivery yet. Our mailing house is keeping up with the post office and monitoring this.

That said, we are confident that the membership should be getting their issue any day now.

Thank you for the continued support

Cool, since I am only a few miles away, I can expect to see (the remains of) mine in about 3-4 weeks.

Received mine yesterday, all in good order. Things are getting better, my last 3 issues had to be sent special dispensation. Glad to see it's still a quality publication :D .

Even though I'm still waiting for mine remember what they say; 'Good things come to those who wait!'. I'm sitting on bungs and screws with anticipation for the arrival on mine!

This board is wierd about posting things twice...happens often????

Seems it just takes so long for the post to appear that the sended thinks it did not go through and post again.???

On Weds. evening when I arrived home there was a very pleasant surprise waiting for me. My copy of the Brass Bell! Yea! Hard Copy is always so much better than and ecopy. Love those Runabouts and Utilities but hope to see more cruisers featured in future editions. I also like the unusual brands occasionally featured. Nice to see what else is/was out there.

Bill;

Glad to hear you liked it.

I would like to see more cruiser material as well.

We (yes that is all of you cruiser folks out there!!!) need members to submit articles and material for cruisers. Material for the Bell just does not appear out of thin air.
