KLC carb

Postby rvayda » Mon Jun 18, 2012 6:16 pm

I have a KLC 6 cylinder with a Zenith updraft carb. After running the engine, the carb leaks gas for about 24 hours, then stops. It drips enough to stain the flooring and get down in the bilge. It leaked before I had the carb rebuilt, and after I had it rebuilt. No difference. Choke is open, throttle is all the way down....Any thoughts?

Can you tell where it is leaking from?

Mine was leaking after a rebuild as well. I circled the culprit in the picture attached.

Even after the rebuild it leaked and for the life of me I can't remember why.

I do remember, though, that once I took it back apart (the circled jet), it became clear why it was leaking.

As I recall, the fix was extremely minor and easy. I just wish I could remember what the actual problem was.
