Trailering in the rain

Winterizing? Summerizing? Covering? Trailering? If it is about a boat out of water put it here.

Trailering in the rain

Postby rmarschner » Fri Jul 08, 2011 6:56 am

We're about to head for the Chautauqua show this afternoon, driving 3 hours through what looks likely to be light rain all the way, pulling our CC barrel-back.

I'm tempted to run with the waterline cover on, but I'm concerned with wind buffeting affecting both chrome and varnish.

Or should I just leave her naked and hope for the best?

All that precious leather (cushions removed, of course) isn't really designed to be soaked for hours, is it?

Nervous, nervous...

unless the cover is designed for towing, you will probably destroy the cover and possibly damage the boat.

Thanks; was pretty sure that was the right approach, but it's good to have it confirmed.
We'll just get to know some freeway underpasses better between Akron and Chautauqua...

I have found that if you drive fast enough, the boat stays dry. Tell the officer I said so.
