Translucent banjo steering wheel

I have a studebaker banjo steering wheel on my riviera. Over time, the translucence has been painted over. What would be an alternative shade of ivory ?

I have used Quality Restorations out of San Diego for several steering wheels. The work Dennis Crooks does is phenomenal. He's not cheap, but once I received them I realized it was worth every penny. He recasts the steering wheel using your original wire frame.

In my case, two 1947-48 Ford steering wheels that were a translucent ivory.
