Keeping your powerboat under power is a lot easier with good advice. Post your power systems questions here.

throttle adjustment

Post by rvayda » Tue Feb 23, 2010 12:56 pm

I have a KLC 120hp. It idles just fine. But when I get to the top 1/3 of the throttle - it will not increase in speed or power at all. The top 1/3 of the throttle does nothing other than rotate the throttle stick.

Any suggestions?

Throttle adjust

Hi,
How many RPM's are you getting out of it? If it has a throttle cable, the inner cable could have a kink in it near the carb end of it. If it has a mechanical linkage you could check where it connects on the shaft to the butterfly in the carb. Just a couple of thoughts without looking at it.

Boats are to be made of wood, otherwise, God would have grown fiberglass trees.
