Adjusting Type M Clutch

Post by tparsons56 » Tue Jun 06, 2023 11:41 am

Last fall when I changed the oil in the engine and the trans I used Brad Penn straight 30W oil. This spring I noticed some slippage in the trans at higher rpm's so I took the trans cover off to adjust the clutch. Unfortunately, I can't get a good wrench fit on the adjusting and lock nuts and don't want to use the "hammer and chisel" method. Any ideas?

I use the hammer and brass punch method if stuck. Try to loosen it first. My punch is made from an old propeller shaft.
