Some photos may help? What's your layout? I did engine swaps on a mid-60's 38' constellation (I think; have to dredge up some very old files to confirm). Anyway, it involved using a motor hoist and/or chainfall to pull the engine out of the hold, and then we had bolted (predrilled 2" angle iron to match exhaust manifold pattern) 2" angle to the heads (2 pc, 10' long). four good strong men and two spotters and it went right out the window with about 2" TOTAL clearance top and bottom. Basically made an old egyptian sedan chair with the engine in the middle. Off the hook inside, to the ground outside, new engine back through and hung on the hook, less than an hour. But with everything ready and six guys who knew what they were doing and how to work together.
