1955 model A. Air bubbles in fuel bowl

Post by rick.hessler » Mon Dec 05, 2022 2:14 pm

Received my Model A from rework. Ran it on a stand and then after installing in boat(out of the water). Ran fine. First run on the water today. Started out fine but started bogging down after 10 min or so. Had to keep choking to keep running. I noticed that when I gave it throttle, bubbles were injected into the glass bowl. Idles like a champ with no bubbles, I only see them when I accelerate. Sucking air somewhere. Checked all fuel line fittings, seems fine (could still be the problem I guess). Took the bowl off and there doesn’t appear to be any gasket between the glass and housing, cork or otherwise.
I’m assuming bubbles are bad….and the cause of my issue.
Assuming there should be a gasket. Thoughts?

So there is actually a cork gasket.. my bad. Checked it and it is in good enough shape.
