Engine Generator

Post by John Cederstrom » Wed Sep 20, 2017 3:16 pm

I have a Chrysler M-27 Crown engine which has a gear driven generator. Are there any things or steps I should be concerned about in removing it from the engine. It needs to be rebuilt plus I want to convert to a 12 v system. One of my concerns is how to line up the gear teeth on re-installation.

No issue gear will pull right out and slide right back in. If memory serves me there are 3 bolts and its out.

One cricket now. 3 bolts are correct. I'll take your word that it'll come out easy and slip back in just as easy. I guess I can always rotate the engine by hand to re-align gears if needed. Thanks for your responses.

It will come out and go back in with no problems. You will probably need to get some gasket material to make a new gasket. You should be able to copy the old one. If you don't have one on your engine. You still need one.
