Stern Light for 61 Capri

Post by Peter McBratney » Tue Jul 12, 2022 11:23 pm

I am nearing the completion of the rebuild of my 1961 Capri. I have a new light pole and top ight plus the original base and components. However, the black plastic insert with the brass sleeve is damaged, as can be seen in the attached photo.

I am unsure how the connection was made between the light and the black insert brass tube. Can someone please explain this?

Is it possible to get replacement parts?

What hold the pole in the socket when underway?

Help appreciated

Peter,
The parts are hardware store items. Tubing and delrin. Gravity holds the pole in. That's why they are often missing.

Thanks Jim

Seem like no real mystery. I will make it work with what I have. However, I think I will engineer a smart screw in pin to keep it in place. They cost too much to lose.
Regards
Peter
