repacement coil for a Model B

Post by Kerry Price » Fri Mar 10, 2023 1:57 pm

I am needing to advise as to which replacement coil is needed on my 1938 Model B which was previously converted to a 12V system. The one I am replacing simply says "Use Without External Resister".
I cannot find any information specifically for this engine.
I have tried Tractor Supply locally and they were not helpful.
On another post on this site, I saw where a NAPA IC14 is recommended but when I contacted my local NAPA retailer they were not able to verify that it had an internal resister.
Will any coil that is 12V and, without an external resister work or do I need one specially made for vintage engines?

Both places probably had it. Just didn't know it.
