Marine survey, when to do?

Post by Lynn Lucas » Thu Jul 16, 2015 3:51 pm

I am putting a new 5200 bottom on a 32ft. Constellation. I am getting close to having the bottom structure cleaned and repaired as well as I think necessary, The chines are exposed, bottom frames are exposed, transom is rebuilt and exposed. bottom frames are doweled and painted, and the stem is mostly exposed and repaired. Should I proceed to put the new bottom on [two layers of one quarter inch marine plywood, and replacing the old planking, all bedded in 3M 5200], or should an insurance guy see it now before I proceed? Maybe pictures will suffice for now? Thanks, Lynn Lucas, Albuquerque.
