Making new Toe Rails 1949 u22
Does anyone have experience remaking toe rails. What would be the most efficient method?

Re: Making new Toe Rails 1949 u22
I had to make new toerails for my 1950 U18. Wasn't any fun and spent more time thinking about it than it took to execute like most of the rest of the boat. But basically all I did was make some very rough shape patterns off the old rotten ones I took off, laminated some thick pieces to cut the flat pieces out of (about 1 5/8" - 1 3/4" thick), got the full pieces cut to "2 dimensional shape" then steam bent those down to the deck to finish what I guess you'd call a compound curve, let dry for about two weeks, then just spent about 4hrs on each side hand shaping them to what looked closest to correct. Hopefully the pictures will upload for reference. And forgive me if they don't come up in the correct order, but you'll be able to get the gist
