Hessell Show 2014
Does anyone have any ideas' on available lodging for this show? We have looked but it seems everything is booked far in advance and far away. We have just decided to try to go with some friends. (Bucket list)

Did you try St. Ignace and then there is Mackinaw City they should have some rooms there but you would have to drive over the Mackinaw Bridge (which is awesome) to get there. Its 32 miles from St Ignace and 40 miles from Mackinaw City. You should really take an extra day and see Mackinaw Island you will not be disappointed. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ubpcGtozklY

Or if you really want to do something cool park your car in St. Ignace and take the ferry over to the Mackinaw Island and stay the night or 2 on the Island. I believe it is Arnold Ferry Lines that Has a trip to Hessel the day of the show then ride back to the Island. Or you can go back to St. Ignace and take your car to the show. If you are taking your wife I guarantee it will be a worth it.

I always stay in St. Ignace. Friday and Saturday. Several chains but some decent Mom & Pop places too. It's touristy. Horse Piss island should be experienced once but the shipwreck museum in Paradise and the falls nearby are more to my taste.

If you enjoy camping there are two nice State Parks at the Bridge. One on the UP side, Straits State Park, practically under the bridge. And Wilderness State Park, on the LP side of the Bridge. I've stayed at both; I like Wilderness better but you'd have to cross the bridge each time. I pull a 30' trailer and have no problems at either one. Full hookups both places.
