Anyone able to recognize a model/year from this cockpit picture?

Leather, Tolex or Russaloid. Linoleum or black rubber matting. If it's in the cockpit or in the cabin, post your questions and answers here.

Anyone able to recognize a model/year from this cockpit picture?

Post by [email protected] » Sun Sep 02, 2018 11:19 am

Growing up, my grandfather had a utility on Lake Sunapee that we adored. It's long gone, but recently, I picked up a 18' 1956 Holiday that is the closest boat I could find to what we remember.

Today, I found this pic of the original boat in a shoe box. The windshield and dash look like my Holiday, although my caulk lines run under the windshield unlike the pic. But, the pic shows an extended dash and more instruments (oil pressure, engine hours, Iva-Lite) vs mine.

Anyone able to guess a year and model for my grandfather's boat based on the pic? I'm mainly curious whether the extended dash and instruments were an option on the Holiday at some point, or if it's a different model altogether!

Hard to tell from one photo. Windshield says Holiday. Gauges say 1957-newer six cylinder.

If you dont get an answer here, let me know and we will have a fun story on Woody Boater, this should be simple. But if Staib cant tell, maybe its a tough one?

Matt, thanks for the offer of help! I poked around a bit further, and thanks to Jim's response, mystery solved: '57 Holiday. Much appreciated, all!
