lancer emblems

Post by dplazesk » Sat Jan 10, 2009 7:16 am

I want to replace the corroded emblems on my 1972 23' lancer. I currently have have the chris craft with out the star and was wondering if they came that way or with the lancer emblem in between. Also my boat is shrink wrapped does anyone know the dimmensions on the original logo. Thanks.

The emblems come in 9, 15 and 26" measured overall when installed (roughly). Here are some 26" emblem

The Chris Craft emblem on your boat seems to be of the correct 26" kind. As you have a model with a rubrail on the side making it an early 70's model the star ought to be replaced by the Lancer emblem. In 1969 there was only a Lancer emblem on the hullsides (no CC logo)and on later boats, from -74 or 75 the star returned and the Lancer emblem moved forward, below the windscreen (still on the hullside).

Ditto on the Lancer emblems versus the stars.
Here's a scan of an emblem decal I had a boat name shop make for my 19'er to replace the badly beat up original plastic emblems.

Had this approx 6" high Lancer emblem made in NCC milled brass and then chromed & Painted. It cannot be made larger as it then will not match the gently curved hullsides of the Lancers. So no replacement for the plastic ones. A small series of these were made but not any left.

Not sure about the plastic. my 75 has metal emblems. I'm also not sure about the blue and red inserts. Most I've seen are black.Mine are in pretty good shape so I'm freshening them up. Here's a before/after. If your boat is a 70-73 you're missing this emblem between the Chris Craft script. I might be able to dig up a pair but they'll need restoring.
