Aluminum Risers

Post by quitchabitchin » Sat Dec 06, 2014 5:22 pm

Hey all. I am looking for a set of aluminum risers to match some Edelbrock M1 manifolds. They are the smaller Glenwood style riser with a 4-1/4" flange, not the 4-7/8" flange.

Maybe you have an old jet boat fanatic neighbor or know somebody that may have a set collecting dust in their garage. Any help locating a good set is greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Andy

Jim

Thanks for checking, I should have figured you might have something. I bought a really nice set of Glenwood "snail" risers off of eBay to find out that they are the larger size, and I need the smaller ones. The guy I bought them from thinks he has a small set he will trade me for and will let me know by Tuesday.

Do you have any other pics? If the other set doesn't work out, I would surely be interested I what you have. The 4-1/4" measurement is taken out of the Glenwood catalog, I need to take the elbows off of my manifolds to see what their actual size is. What is the outlet size on them? Even if this guy has a set, I would like to know more about those if you don't mind I may want them instead. I am mating them to a set of Edelbrock M1 manifolds, so I would like them to match as best as possible.

If you can check those couple of things, I would surely appreciate it.

And to the rest, thanks for the kind words. Having Sophia has surely changed my outlook on life and if you ever want to humble yourself, take a trip to the local Children's Hospital. It is full of amazing children with profound amounts of courage and will that will really make you take a good hard look at what is important.

I was really impressed by what the woody boaters in the Chesapeake Bay Area are doing with Disabled children and adults in the Christmas Parade. That shows what a great people are involved in this hobby. I am proud to be part of it and hope to meet each of you in person someday, in fact, I owe John a ride in FLASH.

Check with Brian at [email protected]. He travels in the jet boat and ski boat circles, and was a big help to me getting aluminum goodies for my 440 stroker project. CQ

Thanks for posting Jim, those are in great shape. Unfortunately, they are the same as what I have, which is actually 4", not 4-1/4". My boat must use a riser, not just an elbow. I am looking for what the jet boat guys call "snails". They will replace my stock risers, which are a necessity in my configuration.

After a month of searching, the guy I bought the original set from found the right size for me in California. He took them to the polisher last week, so I should get them by early next week. Then I need to figure out the cooling system with these new manifolds.
