Boat Buzz Down last evening

Post by Bill Basler » Wed Oct 28, 2009 7:45 am

Boat Buzz was affected by a power outage that occurred at one of our electrical substations on the south side of Cedar Rapids. Apparently a major circuit breaker blew as a result of a faulty transformer. This outage affected our internet server provider and not club headquarters. It was several hours before the problem was settled, and then another couple before our connection was back online. Apparently the transformer issue is loosely 2008 flood related as this substation was largely under water last summer. The saga continues.

Sorry for the interruption. October 2009 is the highest usage month to date for all web functions including Boat Buzz. So far this year we have served over 5 million pages, to our members and non-members. Boat Buzz usage is the highest on record with no single day in October under 1,200 visitors. We seem to be hovering at about 1,200 to 1,600 visits per day with 12,000 to 20,000 page loads per day.

We have now reached 3,061 registered Boat Buzz users.

Hoping for a better day today!
