2006 Commander Club Rendezvous

Post by Bill Basler » Sun Aug 20, 2006 6:18 pm

I was a lucky guy this weekend. I was able to travel to nearby Dubuque, Iowa to attend the 2006 Commander Rendezvous. The first fiberglass Commander was introduced at the New York Boat Show in 1964, and has since earned a reputation as an incredibly tough and beautiful boat. I was able to talk at fair length with Chris-Craft designer Dick Avery...a special privilege for me. Here are a few photos that I took over the course of the weekend. I think I did more socializing than picture taking, but I'm glad I had the opportunty to meet some wonderful people. The 1964 Commander is now 42 years old. Wow. Take a look.
