A report from Bob Rice, the Head Judge at Lake Hopatcong;
At the Lake Hopatcong Show on June 24, 2017 we were proud to present the award that the CCABC sponsored.....the "Stewardship Award".
I have been a proud member of CCABC going back to the late 70's with my earliest Brass Bell dating to 1978. With that personal history, I praise your change in focus from "Best Chris Craft" to the "Stewardship Award".
We presented the award to one of the grandfathers of antique boating....Wayne Mocksfield. As you may know, from when Wayne was a young boy on Lake Hopatcong in the 1950's, he was always involved with fixing boats. As he grew older, he was part of the early meetings at Lake George from which the ACBS was founded and is both a Charter Member and Life Member of that organization. He bought a marina on the lake that evolved to specialize in maintaining and restoring the old boats and became a nationally famous restorer. One can only guess as to the number of boats that survive today owing to Wayne's stewardship. It is a huge number, and while he sold the marina, he remains active in buying, selling, and restoring the old boats.
Congratulation to Wayne Mocksfield!

Re: Stewardship Award Winner
Congratulations Wayne!
Thanks Bob for the kind words. The current BOD felt that the "Stewardship Award" was more representative of our clubs intentions. This was truly the brain child of our Treasurer and board member, Andy Riggs.
Thanks Jim F for continuing on with managing this program.
