Ok, I'm off the topic, but . Marshall springs are a brand. And In my oppinion not strong enough to hold up to stepping on or even sitting . THEY are a pre made set of coil springs. 13 gauge is the heavest they make . These are made for furniture and such. They have 7 or so cliped in rows but are too...

My experiance is the tops come in different sizes and you can buy the complete kit or just the top. I use Keyston Brothers for some tops . How it works is you measure the width at the base points ( connects to deck) . Then from the hinge @ deck up to the inside of top for height of ploes. Now whith ...

I just completed a 1940's Chris Craft and it had the no-sag springs . Which is correct for the year and model. My first question is what does the wood base look like ? A wooden, open frame is no-sag , wooden boards with braces on inner top of wood is springs. They did use both types of spring you de...

My brother and I actually went to his home and looked at what he had. There was nothing we saw that gave us any hint of patterns. Some vinyls but nothing old. We passed on the whole shop. My guess is he had some dimentions and made the early boats from those. Sure wish he was better orginized . We j...

I would try a good cleaner , Malco plastic and vinyl cleaner. I know degreases work but being a petrolium based product it is harmful to the vinyl flooring . May not show it , but time will tell. Malco is so good when used with a soft nylon brush then rinse with water. If using it on seats and such ...

I can offer a suggestion .
If possible look under a section of trim or behind some shelves for the original color . most boats were assembled so there should be able to find some original color.
Good luck.

Try the sprit of 76 vinyls and Uniroyal they have some awsome reds to pick from. Do not settle for just the samples that a shop may have . They usually only carry a small percent of the actual vinyls sold.
If need more info let me know and I' ll post some pics.

You may be able to remove some tacks from vinyl edges and get a look under the skins for details on if they are correct and original . Originals do not have staples they used tacks . Some times if they are covers you can see the original imprint in the padding .Under the padding you should find tack...

Maybe to late but, you can order pre bent tops from most upholstery shops they come in a couple of lengths and widths. They are able to be cut down to almost any heiht and width . As they come split in the center for shipping.
Much easier than trying to bend stainless steel .

Looking for the correct seat spring configuration for a 1936 19' delux runabout. Currently have a wooden frame with zig-zag springs . Boat lost points for this in show.
