Hey guys,

While we are talking about this chain...the chains on my Connie are like 6' long! Is there a reason for this? Was this part of the fuel measuring system? Thanks,

Hey John, Good catch! I had actually visited this sight looking for this trim but given the way it's illustrated passed right over it. Great to know it's still available. I am checking with a local metal fabricator who has a boat in our marina to see if he could make it up. I did some cursory measur...

Someone on here had found zinc plated versions of the nails and I saw a package of them in my local "ACE" hardware store. I think they are used in upholstery work? I have decided to go the tiny stainless screw route like the ones on the front windows. If for some reason I have to remove the trim it ...

Window Trim

Hello All, Does anyone have a source for the flat stock with the rolled edge that dresses up wood edges around window openings on cruisers? The were chromed originally I believe. I'd be happy to find them in any material other than chrome if necessary. This is the trim that uses those spiral nails t...

Fuel Delivery Problem

Greetings all, I have read through old posts looking for a similar problem and got some ideas but need some assistance still. Let me start with the history.. About a year ago I replaced both of Graco fuel filters on my '65 Connie. Shortly after that neither engine (Lincoln 431) would start even afte...

Hey Guys,

Thanks for the replies. What you are saying makes sense, the HJA's predate the 7's by one model year. They came from '64-42'Conne and mine is a '65-43'.

Hi Dick, I haven't done the Nautolex replacement yet but have done all the substrate preparation. The plywood cabin top on my 43' Constellation cruiser was laid in two pieces then butted against the fiberglass of the molded seat. It was an never ending source of leaks. I first took a hand planer cut...

Hey Geoff, Try the village of Skaneateles, NY. Its an old upscale resort like Main Street right on the edge of the Lake of the same name. Engine disassembly and transmission questions

Hello Everyone, I finally decided to tackle the exhaust manifold leak on one of my Lincoln/CC 431's. I have two spare engines that I use for parts. I figured that simply removing the bolts would not cause the pieces to come apart did have to coax the exhaust flange off with a few taps with a hammer....

Aluminum Drip Edge

Greetings all,

I pulled the drip edge on my pilot house roof in preparation for painting the roof. Roofs done and looks great. However, the j channel drip edge is pretty beat up and I would like to replace it if possible. Anyone know of a source for this material? Thanks

Metal repair

Dale,

You are right on about repairs with Wade. However for those that need it, Cambridge Custom Chome, http://www.custom-chrome.com/ will do metal repairs. Pricier than wade but outstanding show quality workmanship.

Rodger, You would only use acetone to wipe down the teak before varnishing which you could do to dress up the boat for sale. Wipe the teak with a rag dampened with acetone after you sand. Boat Bugs

My boat appears to be hosting some kind of bug. The are tromping mostly in the areas where I have not yet conquered leaks. They are very small, about the size of a pin head and look very beetle like. They don't look at all like the photos of termites I have seen online while researching this topic. ...
