Re: Tango Uniform (Restoration of a 1940 44 foot Chris Craft

Good idea frank. It is also an opportunity to clean the oil pans around the bolts and to torque them to forestall leaks. Plenty of gaskets and bolts down there that don't see a torque wrench for a zillion years.

I will spend the rest of today thinking of more stuff for you to do.

Our 1937 Chris has been a trove of great memories over the years. Fixing her up as best I can is a real joy today, Using her again will be even more rewarding. When we cruised in the Kingston/Thousand Islands area from 1990 until 2010, folks would go out of their way to take a look. I think we are i...

Today I dry fitted my new transom bow. I did steam bend the white oak back plate for it (there probably is a real name for it), but i decided to laminate the bow itself from six lengths of mahogany. it seems to have worked fine and i will send some pics soon. I am astounded by the quality of the wor...

Re: Tango Uniform (Restoration of a 1940 44 foot Chris Craft

I have just joined the club and enjoyed looking at your pics. I am rebuilding our 1937 35' Double stateroom enclosed Cruiser Hull 3588(whew), I will call it 'the boat' from here on in. We enjoyed it for over twenty years but I decided that it was time for a real refit and put it in the Port of Toron...
