I searched my records and the closest I came across was this 1960 and a 1963. since I can not figure out how to upload it . If you want to have a copy its a 1960 17' black and white ski boat from Chris Craft. There is a picture in The Real Runabouts 3 ,page 280 and it looks identical to the 60 from ...

If it was me doing the seats I would recomend using sunbrella boat canvas. I know they sell sunbrella for deck chairs and such, but once the canvas softens from use , you will have a seat that will last for years to come. Also have the upholster use a natural welt cord not plastic. The natural is mo...

If you still have not found the headliner you may try the www.rivaguru on the web. Alan has riva fabric that has small pin hoes , it may be a chance they might match.also you might try legendary enteriors, on the web, e-mail a picture of the sample and they will try to match it up . They do autos , ...

The seats , actually, Had a horse hair pad about 2" thick with a cotton wrap over the hair. I prefer the 50/50 blend of cotton the most cotton, less fill. The tree bark is true but it was used in the cushion flotation pads. Usually three sealed plastic bags of kapok per seat cushion. Any side pannel...

A little trick I have picked up over the years . To get the correct fit to seat backboards , is use a piece of clear plastic to mark the shape . transfer to plywood and make sure you cut it 1/4 inch smaller on all sides top and bottom as to allow for vinyls and easy removal of unit. Some seat bases ...

I have not seen the book you talk about , But I have done many prewar boats and have found that 1and 1/4 inch edge roll works the best. It has a burlap cover , filled with paper. the boats never used any poly, And as far as I can recall the older boats only had horsehair padding with a cotton over w...

You may want to remeasure , the tack area for correct width, the webbing gets narrower after it has "over streched" and the tack area is the proper place to measure for exact size. :) If I may add my 2cents worth. If you have the boat with sides and seat bases, risers in . You can measure the back board by starting at the back of riser. the backs sit on the riser and the cushion slips in front of it. So you want to leave a 3/8" gap from walls on each side. and 1/4" shorter tha...

You should do some more searching for a upholster . the price of the alligator should not raise the price anymore than the cost of vinyls, and since the alligator is about 25.00 per yard , the fair increase should not be more than 200.00 at the most. I know , been doing boat upholstery since 1975. S...
