Frank, one note chech out the heat resisatnce to the 1/2 round and check for shrinkage . I used a swim noodle once and the sun melted it down under the leather upholstery. What a nightmare .

You may want to remeasure , the tack area for correct width, the webbing gets narrower after it has "over streched" and the tack area is the proper place to measure for exact size. you might check out the perferated vinyl, (may) be replaced with auto vinyl depending on the size holes . the auto line of vinyls offer many color choices and are made for the seating area ,so would hold up well. as i have not found anything exactly as original.

the black alligator is still avalible and its just a little thicker than the original. I am not at the shop now but, if you still need it send me a line and I'll turn you on to supplier , you will just have to find a shop in your area that uses the supplier.

most seat units were a coil spring unit with a layer of rubberized hog hair then a layer of cotton covered in the vinyl then the seat cushions were layed on top of that unit providing life preservers as well as seat cushions. the base was ruffly 5" tall then the cushions about 2,3/8". hope this help...
