Re: Connie Refresh

I remember seeing something about the system you’re using before. Can you tell us something about it, Troy?

Re: Connie Refresh

Great to see this!! I’ve been contemplating such a thing my self. Just checked out an aluminum carport type structure. I think I can build one myself for about half that cost.

Re: Restoration?

I was fortunate with mine. There was no wood damage. But the windows all had to rebedded and the tracks all relined rubber welting. The latches were missing on all but one so I had to find those. Glad you stuck with it! She sure looks good!!

Re: Restoration?

Sounds like you're making progress!! Do you have any pictures of the Safety Screening you installed on your railings? I would be interested in seeing that.

Keep up the good work!

Re: Information for the Mariners' Museum by Patti Hinson

I'm still in favor of the "Get Together"'at the Museum but haven't heard any talk about it recently.

I'd like to suggest that we have a Connie get together with our boats at the 2018 International ACBS in Port Huron in 2018!!

Re: Restoration?

Mark, Beautiful boat!! I'm amazed at how much more room you get in only 8' more than mine (36' Connie). Keep us posted as you go!! Troy! I can't believe you're going to dessert us Woodies for your Grand Loop/Live Aboard!! From all indications you'll miss the quiet & smooth ride with Fibreglas or Met...

Re: Tango Uniform

I'm not from Seattle so I can't answer your question but hopefully others will. I will say that I find it very fitting to have the pictures back up both as a tribute to Stivn and as a restoration project. The quality of his work suggests the quality of his spirit. This wooden boating world, especial...

Re: Tango Uniform

It sounds as though you're proceeding in a good thoughtful manner. Have you thought about renting or borrowing a smaller boat to gain some of those navigating skills without risking your really valuable boat? The classes and books are good resources but the practical, I know how this feels, boat han...

Will you have the boat in the water this season? Or do you plan on keeping it on the hard and continuing to work on it?

Re: Tango Uniform

That is indeed sad and a profound loss for the Pacific Northwest Classic boating world. Very sorry for your loss. You said he worked on your boat up until last month. How close to being finished are you? I hope all is well with you!

Thanks Troy,

Perhaps my phone just hadn't fully loaded it because there was a lot more there this morning than yesterday. This should help Sailor find the info he's looking for.

Pete, that's great! I know they have great resources but apparently right now there's a problem with online access to the Chris Craft Archives. I'm hopeful that there's just something down temporarily but I was not able to find any mention of the archives on their website.

I made the assumption that you were trying to access the Chris Craft Hull Card Order Form. So I tried the link and while it take me to tha Mariners Museum web site it did not connect through to an order form. I looked all through their site and not only could I not find the form I also could not fin...

Re: Connie Refresh

I have an hour one way commute to my boat. I don't go every day. Just once a week in the off season. As I'm still working on mine I would love to have her closer but options are few and far between. When we're working on her in the summer we will often stay in a Motel nearby for a few days at a time...

Re: Connie Refresh

Yes, we Cruiser Folk are a Rare Breed, as I've often said; A bit 'teched' in the head, especially by 'normal' boating standards. But interestingly enough nearly every Woody Boater is quite glad to take a ride with us when we're done and water borne. So I maintain 'tis a glorious way to be 'teched'! ...

I'm very interested in this as well. I haven't redone my decks yet and will need this info. I wouldn't say mine are black. They're dark but I think they were maybe a dark gray initially. I'm going to be using Teak Oil to do my decks. I hadn't really thought about the 'joints' yet.

That is a manufactured Roll Away stair used in warehouses and industry all over. I found it on Craig's List at a nearby warehouse that was downsizing due to Just-In-Time delivery practices. It's only 16" wide. They come in various widths & lengths. They can be gotten with a platform at the top as we...

Re: Connie Refresh

Question for you guys. Is the above Burgee period correct? If so, when were changes made? What's the best source for obtaining one? CCABC's Ship's Store?
