WHERE DO I BUY ONE? StefanMatt Smith wrote: ↑Mon Nov 09, 2020 8:28 amThe one at Freedom is amazing and the right one to have. It can be stowed away and all thought through. Also anything off the transom has to be screwed into the boat, and your feet are near the prop, which is insane dangerous. YA NEVER KNOW.

Trying to finish off varnish rail around perimeter of hull. Will use 1200,1500 sandpaper, several maguire's products and buffer. How do I attack trim pieces, rounded edges of boards and corner areas where buffer can't reach?

Someone told me there is an absolute best material to put on the inside surface of the 'dog house' to reduce engine noise in the boat. Something like 'soundstop' but it has lead? in it ? What should I use for my '66 cavaliet Dory? Thanks, Stefan

I'm having trouble getting my last coat on my '66 Cavalier Dory varnished areas to be dust and/or spec free. Don't know if there is just too much ambient dust, dust in the foam roller or what but people are saying I should just polish the varnished areas and be done with it. I may do this but I love...

I remade all the floor sections for my '66 Cavalier Dory and wrapped them with Deco Dot vinyl. I will screw them onto the floor supports. Have stainless Sharx Flat head phillips but would like to know if there is a finishing washer out there that won't have a sharp edge and cut into the new vinyl. I...

I am building a center console out of marine mahogony plywood for a 22' Cavalier Dory. We are making a practice one out of birch to see if our design is correct and to learn a little concerning joining it all together. My question is about what glue to use. A fellow suggested 'gel' glue which does n...

I am staining and varnishing from scratch the transom, a new center console and the the bow deck bulkhead on my '66 Dory but many of the mahogony items on my boat have already been coated several times so I will just add several coats to those areas. My question is about the varnish. The work that h...

I just bought a nice used all wheel drive SUV with a V8 to hopefully haul & launch my boat in early summer. How much do you guys think my boat weighs with the double axel trailer. The 22' dory has the V8 283 engine. I'm also wondering what type of hitch to attach to my vehicle. Thanks, Stefan in Mad...

I'm painting the outer hull on my 22' Cavalier Dory and I've been having problems with specs of debris in a sprayed on finish. The look is very shiney so the blemishes stand out. Sanded out these tiny bumps and a few sags as I've been learning how to spray. A friend of mine said not to worry about i...

O.K. more Dory inquiries. I removed all the floor sections (about 13 or so) and really put a lot of work into shoring them up. I'm building a new center console with bench for my Dory. Anyone out there have any photos of the instrument panel. On my '66 Cavalier Dory project the steering would not budge. Started takin'stuff apart and was shoked to find I could separate the inner twisted wire cable from the cracked outer sheath. I'm a first time wood boat restorer and am obsessing a tad as my knowledge and experience are minimal. I've taken the interior walls of a '66 Cavalier Dory down to mostly bare wood. Hello: I'm new and just posted a couple questions in Hull Construction. I'm not certain where to yell for help so I thought I might repeat my questions here. I am restoring the old Dory which has a pretty solid hull and a re-built 283 with very low hours. Where do I find plans or drawings for the or...

Hello out there: I'm new to Chris Craft ownership and this site but am beginning what I hope will be an undertaking that leads to lots of great times on Lake Mendota in Madison, WI. I've been shoring up the interior of the hull on this old Dory. I'm a painting contractor by trade so I think I can do...
