Re: Adjusting Type M Clutch

I use the hammer and brass punch method if stuck. Try to loosen it first. My punch is made from an old propeller shaft.

Re: Emblem Application

My thought would be vents, Chris-Craft, CONTINENTAL on Starboard side as read and Chris-Craft CONTINENTAL as read on port. Search some for sale sites to see.
Also look at the old holes in the wood.

Re: Emblem Application

Bill, If they were original they would be 65 years old. At that age they would have wear marks. (I do) Get a piece of wood thicker than the letters. Tape it to the hull where you want the letters. Set the letters on the wood and tap them with a leather or wood hammer enough to leave a ding in the hu...

Use the 4" and run the rear flush. Makes it easier to get water in for lubrication.

Looks pre-war to me. Look around the engine opening or on the engine hatch. Engine stringers too. Engine could have been changed or could have been a ford flathead V-8, Rare but some had it.

Anythings possible. Until you pull them and check the numbers on the side and measure them you won't know.

Re: KLC piston height

Without removing the pistons and measuring them it is hard to say. But 1/16" is the compression height difference between a K series piston and a KL series piston.

That's not a Chevrolet pump. If it were the part number would be on the surface where the gasket is when removed.

Pressurized oil is supposed to go in a manual gear. Blow in the end of the crank to see if it was drilled.

I prefer covered. Stops stuff from flying out. Have eyelets in the skirt every couple feet to secure the cover to the trailer.

You need to remove the four 7/16" wrench size bolts. The part number is hidden there.

Re: 1955 Chris Craft 21’ Capri with Hemi

I read the Maintenance manual cover to cover and all I found was:
Torque 298lbs @ 2800 RPMs
Horsepower 200 @ 3800 RPMs
Horsepower usually peaks then drops off before the engine Maxs out.

Peter,
The parts are hardware store items. Tubing and delrin. Gravity holds the pole in. That's why they are often missing.

A KFL should have a timing marker at about 1 O'clock between the two bolts that hold the front flange to the block. Matches to a dimple on the flywheel.
