Parting it Out

I've had my 1962 36' Connie up for sale for about a year now. So far no takers. Has much as I hate to part her out, is there a market for it? And what is expected of me as the seller?

Sell or Sit On It?

Last spring I put my Connie up on the block after quite some thought.(Due to financial woes.) So far, I've generated some half dozen serious inquiries and the usual looky-loos. My Constellation has had serious repairs but still needs about $25,000.00 more to be complete and seaworthy once again. My ...

My 2 cents... and that is all I've got. Over the past 3 years my financial situation has changed dramatically. No need for the sorry details, but my Connie is on the hard with no funds to complete her repairs. She's up for sale, some interest, but thankfully hasn't sold (as I hold out hope to turn t...

Hi Patrick,

Did you get a professional survey done?
My Connie was rock solid below the water line, but I was unaware and unconcerned with above the water line.
If I would have gotten a survey done, many headaches would of been avoided!

Good luck!

J,
What can be said when we lose a part of the family? Made me stop and think about each time I got behind the wheel to get under way.
Accidents can happen in a blink of an eye.
Glad you made it out alive!

Listing in Trading Dock

Good Day I was wondering if there are technical issues facing Trading Dock and possibly the phone answering service. I tried to place an Ad last week in Trading Dock to sell my Connie but at the very last stage something happened and the Ad didn't go through. I also called and left a message with Bi...

I live near Hessel, MI and it never disappoints. Lots of boats, lots to see and do. Now last year I took my Dad to the Antique & Classic Boat Show in Gravenhurst, in the Muskoka's. It was the first time we attended and it was a great two day event. I am a bit better versed in Chris Crafts but not in...

I'm old enough to remember winters being as 'wintery' as your wife said they were. Backing out of your driveway itself was like a game of 'chicken' because the banks were so high. These days the Soo and area are lucky IF we get a mere foot of snow. I love a good winter and a pleasant, warm summer. I...

Al, Love your 'two feet of snow'! Up here where the big 3 Great Lakes meet, we haven't had a good winter in a decade. The lake at my house is one foot past the end of my dock! I think the lack of snow has something to do with it. Sorry you guys got it all... could you maybe pack it up and send it my...

It's a sad fact about the fate of our beloved Cruisers. I believe we have to have a bit of a crazy streak for owning such a beautiful vessel. I paid too much for mine because I believed it to be a solid boat, only to discover how rotted it really was! So I sunk another $20,000 into her to repair the...

Sadly, no I won't be able to attend. I've done 3 shows this year, the most ever, and I sure have the bug for more. Very glad I got to last weekend's show in Bay Harbor, it was a beaut!
But Chad, if you want to get a bus load of folks down there, I'd hop aboard in a minute!

It doesn't have to float to be a beauty. A great example of that would be all the classic and antique boats out there yet to be restored.
I think anything old and made of wood is a beauty... including your recent project.
