I have one like this that is tan color. It's ten years old and still going strong. 10' wide and 20' long. I've stored several different boats in it over the years and it works very well provided it's a gravel or dirt or grass floor. The brand name of mine is "Cover-it". No connection, just a happy c...

You know, I honestly can't remember whether it was one of my older fiberglass boats or one of the wood hulled boats that I did the shoot through method. There's been so many and it was a long time ago. A Google search turned up others that said it can't be done on wood. I agree it can't hurt to try ...

It's been many years since I've done this but you might consider the idea of using epoxy to glue your transducer to the inside of the hull bottom, the bilge. It is said the effectiveness is reduced somewhat. If it is I sure can't tell. I expect there are instructions for this available with a google...

They say we received 14" of snow overnight here in West Michigan. Far deeper in the snow drifts. Lots of wind. I spent an hour snow-blowing my small driveway and walks. My street is plugged where it intersects with the main road as the plow came through. Daylight now and I can see the fish shanties ...

The gas prices slowly come down penny by penny. It might be 3.09 at one place, 3.06 at another, still another might be 3.10 a couple miles away. Competition doing it's thing likely. Then we see one for 2.98 and rather suddenly, say the next day and seemingly all stations at the same time, they all g...

I agree, great job on the pics Chad! There's little reason for me to post mine as yours tell the story so well. I think the button idea is a good one. Seems we often discuss this after the fact. My transportation to the show was via the ferry Straits of Mackinac II out of Mackinaw City to Hessel. Th...

After doing a tune up on one of my former boats I couldn't get the engine to run. It just cranked and cranked. I discovered there was no spark. I had installed new spark plugs, spark plug wires, points, condenser, rotor and distributor cap. I checked everything repeatedly, over and over. No solution...

I had a couple engines that would tend to break valve springs. This was because the engines had not been run by the PO in so many years it was thought that the oil passages that lubricate the valve system were all gunked up, mostly plugged. The related cylinders would be dead, no compression. The ga...

small Whaler dinghy
I did it for several years with a 9' Whaler on my 37' 1963 Connie. It worked great!
I'm in the market for another dinghy to replace the inflatable I presently have. I'd readily buy another used 9' or 11' Whaler and set it up with Weaver brackets.
