Collector Foundation
The Collectors Foundation, a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization, will be offering a 2007 James Craft Zephyr Kit Boat for auction June 2-11, 2008 on eBay at www.eBay.com. The proceeds from the auction will help fund Collectors Foundation grants and scholarships that work toward preserving wooden boatbuilding.
The Collectors Foundation is a national organization financed by collector vehicle and boat enthusiasts, providing funding for marine-related entities for continued education, preservation, and restoration of classic boats for future hobbyists.
The kit was donated by James Craft and built by employees of Hagerty Insurance. Hagerty Insurance also secured a 1957 Johnson outboard motor, and a Load-Rite trailer. The entire package would be retailed at about $12,000.00. Contact Bob Knechel at 231-932-6835 or
